Nara Prefecture is most famous for the wild shika (鹿, Deer) that roam the ancient capital city of Nara. It is also home to Todai-ji Temple, a thousand-year-old temple (寺, Tera) that houses Japan's largest daibutsu (大仏, Giant Buddha).
During spring, Yoshino is also famous for the sakura (桜, Cherry-blossom) trees that cover Mount Yoshino and is one of Japan's most popular hanami (花見, Sakura Viewing) spots.
