One of Greater Tokyo’s two major international airports, Haneda Airport serves domestic flights in Terminals 1 and 2, and international flights in Terminals 2 and 3. In 2022, it was rated the second-best airport in the world by Skytrax.
Between Haneda Airport and Narita Airport, Haneda is significantly closer and cheaper to get to than Narita. It is connected to downtown Tokyo by the Tokyo Monorail and the Keikyu Line, both of which connect to Tokyo’s JR Yamanote Line. For anyone visiting Tokyo, we would recommend flying in via Haneda for the ease of access.
The Keikyu Line is the recommended option as it is faster and cheaper, taking around 16 minutes to get to Shinagawa Station by the Airport Express and costing around ¥300. The Tokyo Monorail takes 18 minutes to get to Hamamatsucho Station by the Express and costs around ¥500. Look out for discount ticket packages combining the airport ticket with Tokyo Metro Rail Passes.
The recommended way to get from Haneda to Narita Airport is by limousine bus, which costs ¥3,200 and takes about 1 hour 10 minutes.
