The Kyoto Bus 1-Day Pass is one of the most cost-efficient ways to get around. As buses cover almost all of Kyoto's attractions, it is usually the de-facto mode of transport.

Valid for one calendar day on the day of first use.
It costs ¥700, and breaks-even after three bus rides (buses use a ¥230 flat fare system). It is generally easy enough to make the amount back as long as you make more than a single round-trip.
