The Chubu region, literally "central region", is located in the center of . Stretching from the Sea of Japan coast to the Pacific Ocean coast, the region is famous for and the .
On the northern side, you can find (石川県, Ishikawa-ken) famous for its fresh seafood, especially and , and its traditional districts of (金沢). (福井県, Fukui-ken) is famous for the Fukui Dinosaur Museum, Japan's largest display of dinosaur skeletons, as well as Tojinbo, a picturesque coast with honeycomb shaped pillars.
