A beautiful shrine (神社, Jinja) located on a hill, as you climb up to the top of Enoshima you will pass through the various levels of this shrine. The patron goddess of the shrine is Benzaiten (弁財天, Goddess of Fortune), the goddess of wealth, and you can wash some money to improve your wealth at the Zeniarai Hakuryuo (銭洗白龍王, lit. Coin Washing White Dragon King).
As you climb up there are also stunning views – you can look out the side of the hill, which overlooks the Enoshima coastline.
If stairs are your hated enemy, there is actually a paid escalator service, the Escar, to the top of Enoshima. The escalator has 3 parts, connecting from Benzaiten Nakamise-dori (江の島弁財天仲見世通り) up various parts of the shrine, and all the way up to the top. You can either buy a single ticket from the bottom on the way up, or as you climb, you can also purchase tickets for the remaining parts.
