Brooklyn Roasting Company is a popular American cafe that boasts a modern industrial-aesthetic interior, and cozy sofa seats as well as work tables with power plugs. It's a great place to rest, or get some work done. In general, the place boasts some really great vibes and a nice cozy environment to relax and destress for a little.

They offer a wide variety of drip coffees, and beans from around the world. The beans and blends are typically rotated on a daily basis. You can choose from one of two different beans for your Espresso shot, there is a bean of the day for drip coffee, and another bean of the day for iced coffee.

Brooklyn Roasting Company's motto is "to serve a really delicious coffee to that is both good for the environment and people" (本当に美味しいコーヒーは地球と人に優しく育まれたものだ, hontō ni oishii kōhii ha chikyū to hito ni yasashiku hagkumareta mono da). Their environmental consciousness, and dedication towards the art of coffee has led them to become a cult favourite amongst New Yorkers. The beans' country of origin, their farms, and so on are all carefully considered, and selected in order to pick beans that are both environmentally conscious, as well as possess a strong sense of individuality. These beans are then taken and roasted in Brooklyn Roasting Company's in-house develpped Smart Coffee Roaster in order to carefully roast it to bring out the best fragrance of the coffee.

Brooklyn Roasting Company is one of the largest cafes in Shimo-Kitazawa, with a nice modern Industrial-aesthetic interior. It's a great place to kickback and relax after a day of exploration in the world's coolest neighbourhood.

Typically two blends of coffee are available each day, and you can choose whichever suits your tastes better. Personally, we like choosing the fruity and more light-roast type of blends rather than the dark roast ones.

If you're not a typical coffee drinker, we also recommend going for the Maple Shay Shay, which nicely blends together the sweetness from the maple syrup, and the acidity of the coffee.

Apart from just drinks, Brooklyn Roasting Company Shimo-Kitazawa also serves up lunch and dinner. For lunch, they offer a daily rotation of set lunch menu items, that are typically yoshoku (洋食, Yōshoku, Western Food). For dinner, they serve up more of a full restaurant menu, including mains, pasta, salads, appetizers and more.

The lights get dimmed down in the evening, and so the ambience changes greatly from a bustling industrial cafe in the day, to more of a chill lounge vibe at night.

Brooklyn Roasting Company isn't just an American-inspired cafe, it is actually a cafe that was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 2009. While it may not be a massive worldwide chain like Starbucks, it still boasts its unique small-time indie coffee joint vibes as it expands globally.

They expanded into Japan in 2012 with their first branch in Kitahama, Osaka. Then to Namba in 2016 as their flagship coffee roaster in Japan. Their goal is to bring the coffee that they know and love from Brooklyn, and share it with the coffee-loving crowd in Japan.
