Kagawa Prefecture is home to Sanuki Udon (讃岐うどん), a chewy style of udon (うどん) noodles that is now commonly found all over Japan, and was named after Kagawa’s former name, Sanuki Province (讃岐国, Sanuki-no-kuni). Till today you can find many udon shops located throughout the prefecture, including in the capital of Takamatsu (高松), and there are many workshops where you can make your own udon from scratch.
Off the coast of Takamatsu, you can also find Shodoshima (小豆島, Shōdoshima), which is an island full of great views and is famous for its production of olives, shoyu (醤油, Shōyu, Soy Sauce), and somen (素麺, Sōmen).
