The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art is easily one of Kanazawa’s most famous, and most controversial attractions due to how crowded it is. The museum offers a wide variety of interesting and unique pieces of art. The museum also houses a permanent collection, as well as changing seasonal exhibitions.
That being said, appreciation of art might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and for most it is enough to look at the exhibits and take interesting photos of the exhibits. However, given the museum’s popularity, it often sees long lines and large crowds for its most popular attraction, leaving a bad taste in the mouth for some visitors. The crowds are thinner on weekdays, and there’s also the option to only visit The Swimming Pool for a cheaper admission fee than that of the entire museum.
