Hyogo Prefecture is located just to the east of Osaka Prefecture (大阪府, Ōsaka-fu) and Kyoto Prefecture (京都府, Kyōto-fu). On the southern side, you can find Kobe (神戸, Kōbe), part of the Keihanshin (京阪神) metropolitan area, and famous for its Kobe Beef (神戸牛, Kōbe-gyū). You can also find Himeji (姫路), home to Himeji Castle (姫路城, Himeji-jō), one of Japan's Three Great Castles (日本三名城, Nihon San-mei-jō) and a UNESCO World Heritage Site (世界遺産, Sekai Isan).
On the northern side of the prefecture, you can find Kinosaki Onsen (城崎温泉), one of the best onsen (温泉, Hot Spring) towns in Japan with its willow-lined canals.
