Arashiyama Park Nakanoshima

Quaint Park Besides the River

The Arashiyama Park Nakanoshima is a small park located on the island of Nakanoshima on the . The park itself is rather simple, but it has stone-covered riverbanks where you can get pretty close to the river and some nice shots of (渡月橋, Tōgetsu-kyō Bridge) and the Katsura River. It’s just generally a nice place to stroll along and soak in the views.
There are also many cafes and dining establishments on the island, as well as even an onsen where you can soak for a bit after a long day of walking around.

Arashiyama Park Nakanoshima Review and Thoughts

Recommended
We wouldn't call the Nakanoshima Park an "attraction" by any stretch, but it's definitely a great place to stop by if you're already in the area. What makes this place stand out to us, is how close you can get to the side of the river, and to just sit down away from the hustle and bustle of Arashiyama. We love to find a quiet place in the park to just sit down, watch the flow by and just people-watch the tourists in the area.
Arashiyama, while beautiful, can also be quite overwhelming when it comes to the amount of tourists. And so, you might be caught up more with navigating the crowds than enjoying the scenic beauty of the place. Nakanoshima Park is just a great place for you to take a bit of a breather, and to rest before continuing to comb through the area.
