While the scenery of the area differs greatly during high and low tide, we highly recommend exploring the area during low tide. During the low tide period, you can explore the rocky reef area, and it's a perfect time to see some tidal wildlife as well as take amazing photos of the bay. You will also find many fisherman in the area, and kids running around the area.
Nothing quite beats just sitting down on one of these rocky outcrops, and watching the sun set down behind Mount Fuji.

Chigogafuchi Abyss Review and Thoughts

Recommended
We can't say this enough, but the sunsets at Chigogafuchi Abyss are our favourite thing about Enoshima. And something that we can come time and time again just to enjoy. To us, it's one of the best scenic views you can get near Tokyo, and well-worth a trip all the way to Enoshima to see. The sunsets here are extremely popular amongst Japanese and young Japanese couples, but you'll probably not see many foreigners here. It's still very much a hidden secret amongst foreigners, and even Enoshima as a day trip destination is still a rather novel concept to most tourists.
Nothing quite beats exploring the island for the day, then ending up at Chigogafuchi Abyss. Slowly strolling the tidal flats to look for marine life, watching the fisherman catch some seafood from , and watching children run about when the waves come splashing in. Then as the sun begins to set, to find your own small rocky outcrop to sit and settle in. As you await for the sun to set, the sky slowly turns from blue to orange, and sometimes to a beautiful shade of violet. Then on a clear day, you can see across the horizon, over the Sagami Bay, and admiring in the background. Listening to the waves splash ashore, and just taking in the scenic beauty all around you.
