The Minato Mirai district was envisioned as a new urban center for Yokohama; its name can be translated as "Port of the Future 21st Century". Now the Central Business District in Yokohama, you can find a large body of water surrounded by tall skyscrapers, an amusement park and a variety of hotels.
By day, it looks like an ordinary business district, but by night, the lighting of the area turns it into a beautiful night cityscape. In particular, walking across the Kisha-Michi Promenade through the centre of the water body is a beautiful trail. For those that enjoy a view from up high, you can check out the Sky Garden atop the Yokohama Landmark Tower, the fourth tallest structure in Japan, or ride on the Yokohama Sky Cabin, a short cable-car system.
