The ticket is available in two main variations. A version including a round-trip from Narita Airport, and a version that is only one-way. Furthermore, you can choose to combine it with the 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour versions of the Tokyo Subway Ticket.
The top-up amount for the Tokyo Subway Ticket to get the Keisei Skyliner ticket is ¥2090 for one-way, and ¥4080 for the round-trip. Purchasing an individual Keisei Skyliner ticket costs ¥2,557 for one-way, and ¥5114 for the round-trip. Meaning that you get about a ¥500 discount for one-way, and around a ¥1000 discount for the round-trip.
In terms of duration, the two tickets can be considered completely separately. For the Keisei Skyliner, the tickets are valid for use within 6 months from the day that you exchange it. This means that if you collect your tickets on 1st January, you can use them anytime up till the end of May. For the Tokyo Subway Ticket, you must complete the usage of it by the end of 6 months. For example, if you collect your tickets on 1st January and you have the 72 hour version, the last day you can use it is from 29th to 31st May.
Keisei Skyliner Tickets are valid for one-time use between Narita Airport Terminal 1/2/3 Station and Keisei-Ueno Station. Tokyo Subway Ticket works in 24 hour duration from when you first use the Tokyo Subway Ticket, not the Keisei Skyliner Ticket. This means, if you take the Keisei Skyliner at 1pm, then you reach Ueno and use the Tokyo Subway Ticket at 4pm, the validity starts from 4pm. So if it's a 24 hour ticket, it will be valid till 4pm on the next day.
Since the validity is separate, you can use them in the following manner:
- Day 1: Keisei Skyliner Ticket from Narita Airport to Ueno
- Day 2 to 4: Tokyo Subway Ticket (72-hours)
- Travel out of Tokyo and back
- Day 8 (or any day within the 6 months): Keisei Skyliner Ticket from Ueno to Narita Airport
So if you're planning to come in from Narita Airport, this is a pretty reasonable and comfortable option to take to Tokyo. We would highly recommend it if you are travelling to-fro Narita Airport and planning to explore downtown Tokyo.
Our Take and Review of Keisei Skyliner & Tokyo Subway Ticket
Recommended
The Keisei Skyliner & Tokyo Subway Ticket provides a substantial discount over buying the Keisei Skyliner ticket and Tokyo Subway Ticket separately. It's overall a great option for anyone visiting Tokyo. If you plan to enter Japan via Narita, and leave via a different city, the one-way option make great sense as well. The Keisei Skyliner is also the fastest and most comfortable way to get to downtown Tokyo.
The only reasons not to get this ticket is if you want to save money by taking the cheaper highway bus or local train. Or if you want to take the Narita Express that travels directly to more stations in downtown Tokyo, but costs more. For the general traveler though, this ticket would make the most sense.
How to purchase the Keisei Skyliner & Tokyo Subway Ticket

Do note that you cannot exchange these tickets within downtown Tokyo, and you can only exchange them at Narita Airport. You cannot exchange this ticket at Nippori Station or Keisei-Ueno Station.
