Rikuro's Cheesecake

Rikuro's Cheesecake bakes their cheesecakes throughout the day from morning to night, 12 cheesecakes on a tray at a time.

The cheesecake uses cream cheese that are specifically imported from a traditional Danish factory that has a long history of producing high-quality cheese. The egg and milk are also specially selected to be fresh and complement the taste of the cream cheese well. Additionally, the raisins used in the base of the cheesecake are marinated in a homemade syrup that ensures that they are only mildly sweet, and complement the cheesecake well.

Rikuro's Cheesecake was founded by the late Nishimura Rikuro (西村 陸郎, 1933 - 2007). Born on the nearby Awaji Island (淡路島, Awaji-shima), at the age of 16 he worked in an Osaka confectionary, Zeniya Honpo (銭屋本舗), picking up skills in both Japanese and Western confectionaries. At age 23, he went independent. Then he founded a dessert shop called Chidoriya (千鳥屋) in 1956, he created began selling the cheesecakes for the first time in 1984 at their newly opened Kita-kagaya (北加賀屋) shop .

In 1989, the first Rikuro's Cheesecake shop opened in Namba, specializing in selling only the cheesecake. The cheesecakes became so popular that the Chidoriya brand of shops became unified under the Rikuro's Cheesecake branding. Today, Rikuro's Cheesecake continues to carry on the legacy and recipe of their late founder.
