Osaka is often called Japan’s Kitchen, and Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping Street is where all the restaurants and chefs in the city stock up on equipment. This 150m long shotengai (商店街, Shōtengai, Shopping Street) is filled with shops selling everything from the usual kitchen knives and tableware, to the more unique things like plastic foods and lanterns.
Those actually looking to purchase some knives, or plates, would definitely find what they are looking for here. But even if you aren’t shopping for anything in particular, it’s a great place to window shop and learn about the tools of the trade.
