The south side of Tokyo largely consist of the waterfront neighborhoods near or in the Tokyo Bay (東京湾, Tōkyō-wan) area.

The Ginza (銀座) area is known as Tokyo’s upscale shopping district, with many flagship stores for major chains such as Uniqlo and Muji as well as department stores such as Mitsukoshi.

Odaiba (お台場) is located on a man-made island, reclaimed in the Tokyo Bay, and in recent years has grown to become a lifestyle and entertainment venue in Tokyo, as well as one of the few. artificial beachfronts where swimming is possible.

The Tokyo Tower (東京タワー, Tōkyō Tawā) is Japan’s second tallest building, and while the Tokyo Skytree is newer and taller, the Tokyo Tower maintains a more rustic charm to it with its Eiffel Tower-inspired design.

Roppongi (六本木, Roppongi) is well-known for being Tokyo’s bustling nightlife district, as well as a high-end shopping district with popular art museums. Roppongi Hills is a massive complex, with an observatory that also allows you to get a good view of Tokyo from way on up.

Walk a former Imperial Palace

Originally reclaimed as a villa and secondary residence for the shogun (将軍) during the Edo Period (1603-1867, 江戸時代, Edo-jidai), towards the end of that era, the villa became a residence for foreign diplomats when visiting Japan. After the Meiji Restoration (明治維新, Meiji Ishin), the villa was named Hama-rikyū (浜離宮 beachside palace) by the Emperor (天皇, Tennō, Heavenly Sovereign), and used to host foreign diginitaries, including a former US President, Ulysses Grant, and Crown Prince Frederick William of Germany in 1879. The gardens were destroyed during air raids of the Second World War, and became a public park after the end of the war.

Butagumi Shokudo is definitely one of Tokyo's Best Tonkatsu Restaurants, located in Roppongi (六本木, Roppongi) and offering up some of the most mouth-wateringly juicy and delicious tonkatsu (とんかつ, Pork Cutlet) at an affordable price. Butagumi Shokudo specializes in serving up brand-name pork (ブランド豚, Burando Buta) tonkatsu at affordable prices, perfecting the art of tonkatsu for the everyday consumer. The menu at Butagumi Shokudo is incredibly simple, you just pick between rosu katsu (ロスカツ, Loin Katsu) or hire katsu (ヒレカツ, Tenderloin Katsu), and then the size of tonkatsu that you would like. Taiyaki (鯛焼き) is a classic Japanese dessert, dough that is cooked within a tai (鯛, Sea Bream) shaped mold, and filled with fillings such as anko (餡子, Red Bean Paste), and custard. Oyoge breaks the mold of the usual taiyaki shop (quite literally), by serving their taiyaki in shapes other than tai, made with their own special dough mixture, and innovative fillings using modern flavors.
